Emotions running high?
Ballast uses short, science-backed emotional regulation exercises that bring your feelings back to a steadier place.
We're here with you
We care about you. We see you. We want to meet you where you are.
Each check-in is a few taps: pick a number from 1 to 10 for how strong your feelings are, follow one short exercise, then pick a number again. No typing, no account, no setup.
Trust and privacy come first
We tell you exactly what goes where. This is the same note you'll find in the app's Settings:
- On this device: your current check-in (your 1-10 numbers and the buttons you press), and your name if you entered one.
- Kept on this app's server for each exercise you finish: your name if you entered one, a random ID, your 1-10 numbers before and after, the exercise name, and the times.
- Sent to Formspree (a third-party form service) only when you use Contact Us: what you type in the form. No copy is kept on this app's server.
- Erase all my data clears this device only. It does not delete what the server keeps.
For each exercise you finish, our server keeps one line: a random ID, your 1-10 numbers before and after, the exercise name, and the start and end times. That log never holds your messages, your email, or your IP address, and we don't ask for an account.
If you use Contact Us, what you type in the form (including your email if you provide one) is sent to Formspree so we can reply. No copy is kept on this app's server.
Your name is optional. If you enter one, it is saved with that line. Leave it blank, and nothing in the log points back to you.
Who we are
Paulina brings the care side: how people actually feel in a hard moment, and which skills help.
Derek builds the app and keeps it simple, private and fast.
We started Ballast because the right exercise at the right moment can make a real difference, and it should take seconds to find.
